Easter Isn't Over Yet!

Hi! This is John Nemmer again. I would like to speak with you about Easter. Now at Easter time, we remember how Jesus triumphed over death by His Magnificent Resurrection. The season of Easter is celebrated for 50 days, starting on Easter Sunday until Pentecost Sunday. Easter is the most important day for us Christians. It’s so important because if Jesus didn’t actually rise from the dead, our faith wouldn’t be real. If the Resurrection never happened, then Jesus wasn’t the true Messiah, the Son of God. I can tell you through faith, that Jesus truly is the Son of God.

The Apostles hid behind locked doors when Jesus died in fear of their lives. They were depressed, and thought that it was all over. However then, something really big and powerful happened to them on the 3rd day, the Resurrection, which allowed them the strength to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the Earth. They truly saw our risen Lord, and He remained with them for 40 days after His Resurrection.

However, Jesus knew full well that wouldn’t be enough help for the Apostles. So He promised to send them the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday. Then all at once they were given the power of the Holy Spirit, the strength to build and spread The Catholic Church, which is still standing today. May the love of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ, the help of the Holy Spirit, and, the glory of God the Father, be with you all! Amen! Happy Easter! John Nemmer
