50 Days of Easter!

Hi! This is John Nemmer again. I would like to share with you my personal thoughts about Easter. Now, Easter is when Jesus gloriously rose from the dead after 3 days. He became the true and final Passover lamb who willingly died for the forgiveness of our sins, and to offer us everlasting life. The Easter season is 50 days long and we should always have great joy that Jesus is truly alive and still with us.

I think in the world today; our nation is really blinded by sin which has turned our country away from God. Although this is really sad and unsettling, we must keep trusting in God and remain joyful. Jesus already destroyed death, sin, and the power of Hell by His own death and Resurrection. We need to remember God is still perfectly in control of this broken world, and He always brings the greater good out of all evil. We can take the Death and Resurrection of our Lord, as an example. Jesus allowed Himself to be put to an awful death full of suffering. His followers at the time were all afraid and confused. They hid themselves behind locked doors out of fear. Then on the 3rd day, Jesus came to them truly risen from the dead and said, “Peace be with you.” He said that to get them to see they shouldn’t be afraid of earthly troubles anymore.

In the world today, there is so much fear and sorrow that I think we sometimes forget the true joy and peace that Jesus gives us by His Resurrection. He paid for our own sins by dying out of love for us and rising He unlocked Heaven, so death has no power over us anymore. That should be the cause of our joy in life. Our earthly life is very short but we are promised eternal life by Christ. This world of death, suffering, and sorrow will end someday. We will experience everlasting joy and peace in Heaven if we remain faithful to God in this life and because of that, we can live a life of joy.

God is always faithful to us and He always keeps His promises. If we really believe that is true, then we should live as people who have great joy in our hearts and look forward to the Resurrection of the Dead and for the Light of the World to come.

May the love of our risen Lord Jesus Christ, the help of the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God the Father be always with you all! Amen.

Happy Easter! John Nemmer
