The Queenship of Mary!

Hi! This is John Nemmer again. I would like to talk with you about the Queenship of Mary. The Church celebrates it on August 22. Pope Saint Pius VI declared this holy feast in 1954; however, Mary’s Queenship has roots in the bible. When St. Gabriel came to Mary he said that her son will receive the throne of David and reign without end. Due for the fact that Mary fully pleased God and let His Will for her be done all her life, God raised her up, body and soul after her earthly life was over and crowned her as the queen of Heaven and Earth. In the 4th century Saint Ephrem used to call Mary “Queen” and “Lady.” Later on the Early Church Fathers continued to call our Blessed Mother those names.
