Lent Is Coming!

Hi! This is John Nemmer again. I would like to share with you my personal thoughts about Lent. Now, Lent is celebrated for 40 days before Easter. It’s a time of great fasting and prayer. During Lent, we remember God’s divine love and mercy, and how Jesus willingly died on a cross for us so we could have everlasting life with Him in Heaven.

During Lent we should give something up or take something on to better our relationship with God. Whatever we do for Lent, we always should do it in a very small and humble way. Now, I am not saying we shouldn’t take Lent seriously or do the best that we can with it. However, God is our father and we all are like His little children. When your children were little, they used to come home from school with something they made for you like a picture. Although they weren’t the best artists, you probably truly loved it because it came right from their hearts. They were so little that they couldn’t do anything really big to repay you for everything you did for them. However, your children did very humble things out of love for you to say “Thank you” right from the heart. That’s what I think we should do for God during Lent. It will make us humble ourselves like little children before God our Father who loves us and cares for our needs every day.

May the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, the help of the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God the Father be always with you all! Amen.

Happy Lent!
