Hi, this is John Nemmer again. I would like to talk with you about trusting in God’s Will for us in life. Now, we all know God put all of us on his Earth for a reason. He has a plan already set for everybody. We never know at first, what God wants us to do in our lives. We start off as babies and then become children. We play pretend and go to school to learn about different things. We learn what we like and dislike. We all are different from each other. He didn’t make anyone the same as another. God always calls us to do great things in our lives, so we can please Him.
We shouldn’t ask ourselves, “What do I want to do with my life?” instead we should ask ourselves, “What does God want me to do with my life?” because we live for the Lord. We just have to trust in God, that he will direct us in the right way.
We always can learn from Mary because she totally trusted and always said, “Yes” to God. She never questioned. She felt humbled and blessed to be chosen, from all women, to be the Mother of God. Now, Mary’s life wasn’t easy at all. She probably had moments when her own family was frustrated at her when they didn’t understand Jesus’ role. I think that's relatable for us. I'm sure Mary said, “No” to her family because she knew Jesus was the Son of God and the devil was confusing them in those moments, blinding them from the truth.
So, Mary just trusted, said yes, and let Jesus do the Will of God. Mary already knew Jesus would be rejected by many people and that would lead to the cross. However, she knew He would rise again and everything would turn out okay after that. With Mary, we learn to trust when all hope seems lost. From Mary, we learn how to be compassionate and humble. With Mary we learn how to love Christ, her Son, and the Son of God.
She was just a poor, young girl, but God picked her to bring Jesus into this world. God chooses the humblest and the weakest people to carry out His Will. God doesn’t care if we have a lot of money, or how many friends we have, or what we look like, or if we can walk and talk. He always cares about how gentle our hearts are. That is why, Mary was chosen. Let us follow Mary’s example. If we do that, we will become saints in Heaven. May the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the help of the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God the Father, be with you all!
Amen! John Nemmer
